Unpack the tiles and allow them to acclimatise to the environment before you start installation. Mark the centre of the door frame (white line) and align the first tile with it. Lay premier surface tiles left and right of the first, until you cover the width of the space. Remove the female plugs facing the door frame and outer edges (black dotted lines).
Use a dead blow hammer to join the tiles together. Once all the premier surface tiles have been connected, cut off a few centimeters of each corner tile at a 45º angle, this helps the corner profiles to fit.
You will then be able to see how many tiles are going to need to be cut to size for the edges of the matwell (black dotted lines). You may also need to cut off any excess connectors. Start by cutting one side of the tiles first, you then might able to use the cut off parts for the other side to reduce tile wastage.
Having marked the aluminium profiles, cut off any excess with an appropriate tool e.g hacksaw.
For a secure fitting, plot the drill points in the middle of the aluminium edges, and 300mm apart. The corners can only be fitted once the aluminium profile is screwed in to place. Drill through the aluminum edges and into the floor. Remove the profiles in order to clean away dust/dirt, and add suitable rawl plugs to the holes you have created in the floor.
Use 5mm diameter flanged head screws to fix the aluminium profiles in place on all the sides. Once this is done the PVC corners can then be fitted into place. Measure the distance between the door frame and corners of the mat, to give a measurement for the PVC edging. Finally, using the rubber mallet, fix the PVC edging down starting from the centre working your way out.
For best results it is advised to install Premier Surface tiles on a level and clean floor. Simply follow these simple steps to achieve a durable, clean and adaptable flooring finish in your chosen area:
Sweep the existing floor to ensure that the surface is clean and free of dust and dirt.
We recommend using a self-leveling repair compound in areas where there’s variations in subfloor surface. If not addressed, floor tiles may ‘dislocate’ at the connection interlocks (The smoother the sub floor is the more even and resilient your Premier Surface Tiles will be).
We advise that Premier Surface Tiles are laid in areas that have an ambient temperature between 16°C-24°C (Let the tiles acclimatise to the environment for at least 24-48 hours before laying)
