Travel the world and journey through the 7 continents in one epic immersive experience, but before doing so remember to take a look at the entrance matting.
Yes, the COBA team is proud to announce that we assisted BBC Earth with the ultimate matting solution to ensure the best experience for all who enter the building. The brand-new London attraction, which is produced in partnership with BBC Studios, Moon Eye Productions (the ultimate client), and Live Nation, will feature three breakout zones, allowing audiences of all ages to interact with the natural world, in a unique new way. As well as epic footage from the iconic BBC Studios Natural History Unit television series Seven Worlds, One Planet, the 360° audio-visual journey also features bespoke narration from David Attenborough.
To ensure that the internal flooring is protected the COBA team assisted with the best entrance matting solution for the location, alongside FAAC that provided the revolving doors for the building. The Plan.a Low Profile with Alba inserts is the ideal solution for the high traffic volumes expected at the building. The Plan.a will assist in removing dirt and debris from shoe soles and ensure that the building stays clean. The robust, high-quality aluminium system is also the ideal solution for removing moisture from shoe soles allowing the internal building to be free from slipping hazards.
To ensure downtime is avoided in getting this building ready for the public, the COBA installation team made quick work of installing the Plan.a entrance matting system in a mat well fitted to the revolving door. Our installation team knows our products inside out and can install them seamlessly.
Our matting experts assisted in choosing the best solution to suit the aesthetic of the building while also looking at a practical option that will be suited for the conditions and traffic. The brown Alba inserts is an adaptable carpet insert ideal for zone – 3 high-volume entrance areas, walkways, and corridors. Alba is made from ECONYL®, essentially reclaimed fishing nets and other plastic waste.
Not only was the practicality and aesthetic of the building kept in mind but also the earth and what BBC Earth represents. ECONYL® regenerated nylon performs the same as brand-new nylon but is more sustainable and helps clean up our oceans.
We would like to thank the team involved in making this project a great success. Thanks to ES Global, our main contractor of the project, and Tristop Media for the amazing imagery.
